Kingpin is a favorite spot among Berkeley students since it’s right on Durant and always fills the air with the delightful scent of freshly roasted dough. The smell alone is enough to draw me in, plus you can watch them making the donuts, which is a nice touch. One of the best things about Kingpin is their late hours—they stay open until around 2 a.m., making it perfect for late-night cravings. What a normal donut shop should be: cheap, convenient, fast, decent flavor, buy a dozen for 8 bucks-ishI spent 4 dollars on a single glazed donut with cream. Terribly overpriced for its quality. If this was an artisan crafted wheat/mochi/something-else donut then I would understand.This is yet another business surviving on the gullibility of college students with no means of getting anywhere cheaper.Do you want donuts of the same quality for 1/4 the price? Hit up a Dunkin's or something.
A bit pricey for donuts, but it's the closest donut shop within walking proximity of campus. After being in the Berkeley area for almost 8 years, this place mostly serves as undergrad nostalgia for me. I got a dozen donut holes: half buttermilk and half raised. They might be the sweetest donuts I have ever consumed, but hey- it's donuts. I think I've hit my sugar limit for the day after eating just two. They also sell day-old donuts for a discount: 4 donuts per box for $5.50.
The donuts at King Pin Donuts Shop cost $3.75 each, plus a $0.50 credit card fee. I paid $8 for two donuts, which I felt was overpriced since they weren’t very good. In my opinion, they’re not worth more than $2 each. The only redeeming factor was their large size, but that was probably because they were overly greasy. The taste was so unpleasant that I couldn’t even finish them.

I love how fluffy the donuts are. The thing is why is it 2.50/per donut? This is true inflation- lol. But its good, so once in a while of enjoyment is worth it. Service was quick, seen they have a side spot where they sell day old donuts for cheap. Ambiance- tiny spot. Def. A grab and go situation. Still waiting on the day where I can try their donuts right off the donut maker!
The donuts were amazing. I visited this restaurant the morning of my graduation and they had my order ready right away. I would definitely return. The staff member at the counter was very friendly as well. Overall, I would rate my experience as a perfect 10 out of 10.
Located close to the Berkeley athletic complex, King Pin Donuts Shop serves fresh and tasty donuts. The coffee is also quite good. For anyone concerned about the prices, it's worth noting that many things are costly these days.
Ordered delivery an hour ago and they cancelled it without giving an explanation. This place is unreliable. I would strongly suggest not ordering anything from them. Service: 1 Service: Delivery Price per person: $10–20
