This was once the best fish chips shop I've been to in Brisbane. Sadly the new owners have cut a lot of cost and corners. The grilled fish now has so much flour oil it could nearly pass as battered. The home made tartar sauce that came in a meal was replaced with a nasty masterfoods packet. The seafood salad basically has no seafood anymore, just seafood extender and a lot of mayo. The coleslaw has more mayo than cabbage. A once happy customer lost.
This fish and chip shop has been around for a long time, but now has new owners. I'm happy to report that they have upheld the high quality of the food and service. We ordered the seafood platter for two and it was delicious. Everything was freshly prepared, the fish was excellent, and the prawns were also tasty. The standard beer-battered chips were cooked perfectly.
consistent high quality. friendly staff and my favorite fish and chips. never had a negative experience here, I have ordered for many years and will continue. fish and salad taste fresh and the chips are always perfect. parking: many parking spaces directly in front of the shopwheelchair accessible: next to the parking space, no steps or ramps required
It appears that this restaurant is improving. The Barra Snapper was cooked perfectly and delicious. The oil used was clean and drained well. The beer battered fries were also tasty, but you seem to get more if you order a large portion separately rather than with a full order of 4 battered fish. Perhaps a little less salt would be better. Enjoyed a really beautiful, FRESH, Grilled sweet lip fillet with coleslaw flavoursome seasoning at a great price for 3 of us seated in perfect positioning on a yucky hot summer noon time to enjoy a really lovely breeze!!! Better still, at a great value price too! $37.80 for 4!!! Definitely my new local go to place for fish salad!!
There have been many changes since the restaurant came under new management. The food has improved significantly and is now delicious. I particularly appreciate how they handle customer issues in a very professional manner. This restaurant definitely deserves a 5-star rating!
the seafood plate for $20 is a dry part of the broken seafood. no taste, comes with a very small sauce and a piece of lemon. I would rather have a much better eating at a kebab or macdonald’s.
really good Calamari meal, chips cooked wonderfully, fresh crunchy garden salad, but super stingy with the tartaric acid sauce. a small package. please give us more sauce Réservez une table maintenant
delicious hot chips, Dagwood dog and potato scallops. good prizes too! I am definitiw back.
