I’ve ordered sushi from many places before, but this was my first time trying this restaurant. Their California rolls are the largest and absolutely the best I’ve ever had! As advertised on the menu, they’re their top item! The dragon roll was delicious as well, and the tempura was perfectly crunchy and tasty! I was also quite impressed with their to-go containers. They are high quality and visually appealing, keeping the dishes intact and my food warm (or crunchy, in the case of the tempura), even though I live quite a distance away. You can really tell that a lot of care went into both the preparation and packaging!

The staff here are incredibly friendly! Although we had to wait for a bit, the dragon and sumo rolls we ordered were freshly made, and since we ordered quite a few, I can't complain! We also tried the California and Rainbow rolls, which were 50% off from the case. Everything was delicious; however, the teriyaki chicken felt a little standard, but it was still good quality. While I was waiting, I checked out the small store area. There wasn’t much stock this time, but they had some interesting items. I will definitely be returning!

Kitayama Yoichi is a small restaurant with a quirky design, while the adjoining convenience store is well-organized. The to-go items seem to be the standout options, featuring excellent Japanese desserts and appealing grab-and-go choices. Our sit-down meal, however, was disappointing. The fish was rubbery and lacked flavor, and the miso soup contained no tofu. The oyako don was by far the best dish we tried. If I come back, it will be just to pick up takeout—that’s about the level of quality to expect.

This was a mid-tier sushiya that suddenly closed and then revived itself as half takeout and half Japanese specialty store. I don't know who their supplier is, but they had some unique Pocky snacks at prices cheaper than 168 Market. The convenience store factor has been toned down and it's closer to what you'd expect from a DAISO or Ranch 99, with occasional specialty products. Takeout wise, their curry tonkatsu is a safe choice for a light meal. The curry udon is a bit Réservez une table maintenant

I've visited Kitayama Yoichi several times during my stays nearby, and the food is fantastic. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. I also really enjoy the small Japanese deli and market attached to the restaurant. The chicken karaage, sashimi combo, chirashi, and tempura are all outstanding. Considering the quality, the prices are some of the best you’ll find for Japanese cuisine in the Bay Area.

A great place for Japanese food and snacks Love their rolls and sashimi! They are fresh! And they are on sale every day at after 6:30pm before they close at 7pm! They serve hot food like chicken teriyaki, curry rice, etc. I also like to do a quick shopping here for some Japanese snacks and cup noodles! Recommend checking it out!

One of the rare Japanese markets in the East Bay. I often stop by to pick up some frozen unagi and snacks. This time, I decided to try their hot foods, which were excellent. For more food updates, check out @vin.foodjournal.

My 49er and Dragon Roll were incredible! The Kitsune Udon and Miso Soup were served nice and hot. I will definitely order them again—thank you! Réservez une table maintenant

The bento box was quite enjoyable. However, the portion of the Tuna Maki Roll was very small and not worth the price.
