This was one of those days when everything was taking longer thqan expected and my stylist FRED Conners suggested Kitsune. I'd never heard of the place but I followed his directions and found myself at a little hole in the wall, almost literally, with three otherpeople eating at the little counter while others lined up at the door to place their order. I had a deliciously crisp piece of tender chicken with rise and couldn't have been happier. The young woman who did the cooking was working so efficiently in a very small space that it was a joy to just watch her work. Her partner, the front man, was equally efficient. They made a great team, and even thought they were very busy they spoke to...
I have been trying to get in here since they opened and finally had my chance last week. Astonishingly good sushi!! and I am a long-time Shige devotee but this is the only sushi I have had in Nova Scotia that could be considered in that same category: incredibly fresh, perfectly prepared and spot on! I had both the spicy salmon and spicy tuna and even threw in an order of pork dumplings to have a more varied sample and everything was delicious. I didn't have time to take a photo (sorry) I scarfed it all back too quickly : )
We have eaten several times and taken away from this beautiful restaurant and we are always happy with the food. Not only the sushi delicious, but her presentation is amazing. I've eaten a lot of sushi since childhood, so I know big sushi, and that's great sushi. Your Gyozas are also wonderful.
Had a lovely lunch with a Dragon Roll and some miso soup. The roll was exceptional. I don't know how to describe why it was exceptional but every bite was completely delicious. There seem to be a lot of care and attention to detail. Very friendly and great price point.
