Brunshausen Monastery – a very small part of the small town of Bad Gandersheim. And yet a great, historic place. Founded in 9. Century founded as Benedictine monastery today far over 1000 years old. After this alternating story: first as a nunnial monastery, later as a monk monastery and evangelical convention. In 1944/1945, the Brunshausen monastery was designated as the outer camp of the Buchenwald concentration camp. Today there is a museum of the history of Brunshausen and the monastery of Bad Gandersheim. Other parts are used as a café and venue, also as part of the Gandersheim Cathedral Festival.
