My husband and I have stayed in the Bloor/Yorkville area of Toronto on three previous occasions, but never eaten in Koreatown. We remedied that oversight on our most recent visit. I read a few online reviews and we ended up at Korean Village on our first night in town (Thursday). The restaurant was not busy and we were seated in a booth next to a family from Texas. The owners' son was serving their table BBQ and was very chatty, which also extended to our table. He thanked us for coming and said his parents had opened the restaurant 39 years earlier. Our server was less effusive, but very attentive and helpful. He recommended the house pork, which I had and really enjoyed. There was a lot of...

I hadn't been to Korean Village in years, and it has certainly gone downhill. It's still a landmark in "Koreatown" at 628 Bloor St. The prices are higher than expected for basically Korean fast food. We paid before tip about $75 for four dishes and one appetizer (no drinks at all). The various bibimbap wasn't fresh. They forgot to add egg, which is unthinkable. The rice was overcooked, and the spicy ddukboki didn't have vegetables or even protein as per usual at other Korean restaurants. The side dishes were sparse, except an obligatory heaping tapas-sized Kimchee. I could only write that the Sushi-bowl hwedupbap was generous, albeit a whopping $17-$18. (It's probably tastier than the local...

I was visiting family in Toronto and I had family members from Brazil with me who had never tried Korean BBQ, so I looked on Yelp and found this place to be the highest rated and we were completely disappointed. It was by far the worse KBBQ experience I have ever had. We went during lunch and it was very slow, there was only 1 other table beside us and the service was horrendous. Our family of 7 was forced to sit at a table for 6 because they refuse to let us join the table next to ours. There wasn't enough table space for us to put all the food, so we were crammed and uncomfortable the whole meal. We had ordered some edamame for the appetizer and it came out after the entrees. I have no pro...

My partner, her two friends, and myself went to Korean Village for dinner this weekend. There was a 15 minute wait so they took our number and called us when the table was ready. We all ordered bibimbap in various configurations. I ordered the spicy pork bibimbap and it was just ok. It was in fact spicy but I feel like they skimped out on the meat. Also, the rice that was in contact with the bowl didn't really crisp up.The various sides they brought us were pretty good. Decent kimchi and the pickled sprouts were tasty. This place was super busy but I feel they accommodated us well. The food wasn't the best but it was passable, if not a little on the pricey side. Had lunch here today and ordered from the set lunch menu. Lots of food for $12.99 but spoilt by the beef being pretty poor quality, not unexpected at that price maybe and possibly I could have chosen better and I'm sure that had it been chicken it would have been great. This place is definitely better than average though as everything was lovely except the beef - specially the fish cake and the pickled cucumber. As ever service was very good.

One of my Korean friends invited me to the restaurant. We went there around 6pm,there has already been a couple of people who enjoyed dinner. We ordered japchae, bibimbap, Korean pancake, and bulgogi, which are famous Korean dishes. All of them were so tasty, neither spicy nor salty. I felt we had a nice time in Korea because of the dishes, the atmosphere and the kindness of the staff. I wish I go there again as soon as possible!

Had dinner here with family in a private booth. Service was excellent and the food very good, particularly the bibimbap and grill The pork belly was mainly fat but tasty. I really enjoyed the experience but have had better quality food and the overall experience was slightly spoilt by having everything we ordered arrive at the same time in a rush so we felt swamped by all the food in front of us

Came in for lunch, we ordered dumplings, sushi, and noodles. The plates were enormous. Plus, we were given side dishes of fish cakes, kimchi, bean sprout salad and pickled cucumbers, all of which were fantastic. Food came out SUPER fast, and they gave us a water pitcher so that we didn't have to wait for someone to come fill up our glasses. Would eat here again. Réservez une table maintenant

Went for a quick bite on a Sunday night with a friend from out of town. At 6 pm the restaurant was starting to fill up. The food was ok, but nothing special. Very expensive meal for "cheap" Korean grub!
