A solid place to get hibachi or sushi. When you first arrive, this restaurant can look at little iffy, once you get inside the decor is nice enough. It is a small restaurant, but some of their tables are in rooms that appear semi private, and a definite Japanese aesthetic to them. We went for lunch on a Saturday, it was not busy and there appeared to only be two people working. The service was not slow, but we did have to specifically ask for a couple of things I would have thought to be automatic (soy sauce dish to hold soy sauce for the sushi, the sauces that normally get served with your hibachi). The food was tasty and fast... perhaps too fast. The sushi rolls fell apart, probably because they weren't pressed together enough to keep them from falling apart. Perhaps part of the problem was that the server and her mom were more worried about playing with the little one with them than serving the actual customers. The Kani salad was delicious but tiny. That was not worth the money at all. There either wasn't desert, or the staff was trying to get rid of us quickly, because she never even asked us if we wanted it. It was a dine-in experience, and we were in and out within 30-35 minutes. Prompt service is one thing; this seemed rushed.
Came in on a weekday and it was fairly busy. At first glance, tbh,, I almost left after being seated. I had the feeling service would be slow. However, once the waitress came, she was pleasant and did mention they were busy. Despite being busy, dishes came out fairly fast. I had the ocean roll that was the special for the night. It hard calamari in it. All rolls are prepared superbly! The gyoza was delicious as well. My hubby loved his hibachi meal of steak. The steak melted in your mouth. I would definitely return here!
Used to have date nights here with my husband...we stopped 10+ years ago because everything changed. We've tried a couple times here and there but never been the same!! Miso soup used to have ACTUAL CHUNKS OF TOFU!! THE SEAWEED SALD WAS COVERE IN DRESSING AND ROE!! And, the sushi was wrapped without falling apart when you picked it up! The taste was of fresh raw fish, not whatever this garbage is they keep trying to pass off as real sushi!! We keep trying but it is only more disappointing! Especially for the price!!
Food is always good and quick. But the service at regular tables rather than my habachi service is so bad and rushed. Dont ask what we want to drink, Dont come back for refills just hand us the check randomly without asking if we wanted anything else or dessert. Sushi was phenomenal! fried rice was hot and very good! You also go through great lengths to ensure that everyone is safe to sign in these unprecedented times only serve take-out, promote social distancing and by providing clean pens for your food. I will definitely be back here! friendly staff! They really seem to enjoy what they do.
What a great surprise. The decore was very nice and the service was great. Very attentive and things came out quickly, a little too fast but very attentive. However, the Jewel was the food. The sushi was exceptional. My friend can't stop raving about the Godzilla roll.
