Thanks to another TA reviewer we tried this Gasthof down the road from our hotel. I had been a bit put off by its position on the edge of a camping site, and by the way it looked from the outside - it turned out, however, to offer us a lovely meal, and was, in fact, an agreeable place to dine - clean, tidy and comfortable. Service was efficient and polite. Good, solid Germanic fare was what we were looking for, and is what we got. My only negative comment would be that everything was very fatty - maybe this is par for the course in such a restaurant, but beware. This restaurant is on a camp site. But don't let that put you off. The food was excellent. We both had rump steak. My husband had a pepper sauce with Rosti and I had onions and chips. The onions were a bit oily. But otherwise it was good. We both had dessert, fruit salad and ice cream and Cup Denmark - ice cream with hot chocolate sauce. The service was great and the price was very reasonable. If staying at Löffelschmeide this is a nice 10 minute walk along a well maintained path.
