We have been to Kronreith multiple times during our most recent vacation. The views are amazing, the service excellent, and the food truly top notch. The new chef has created a menu that is far beyond what you would find elsewhere. This is essentially 3-star cuisine along with a great selection of wines and spirits. In addition, there is a nice playground which can be priceless if you're traveling with small children. Long story short: We carried our 2-year-old in a broken stroller up the mountains, and I would do it again in a heart beat as long as Kronreith is the destination! Enjoy!
Came to this restaurant with a group of 11 prior to partaking in the nighttime sledging. The food, the ambience and the service were all great. I had their current speciality a venison ragout which was superb. The kids had burgers which looked huge! I would recommend this restaurant. I would also like to come back in daylight as other reviewers have mentioned the spectacular views which we couldn't see due to the late hour and darkness. The sledging after food and wine was a hoot!
Mountain restaurant, great location, local food of very good quality. Great after a good walk in the mountains and hills of Maria Alm, which is worth a few days' stay, anyway. I have been there in all seasons; my favorite is autumn, when the leaves take on their colours and when skies are clear and the air crisp. Very popular also in winter, with a decent toboggan run from the restaurant down into the valley.
