Kruse’s Deer Lake Inn became my favorite restaurant in the area. They have some unique flavors (like their current harvest salad, the candied pecans, apples, bacon, goat cheese and a bacon vinegar that sounds questionable, but is quite delicious). And everything on the menu is great and they have a wide selection of dishes, depending on how I feel (Ribs, parmesan encrusted flounder, fish and chips, black chicken slaughter, Tortellini Pasta with chicken and palomino sauce). You always have a good desert on the menu also (the four berries crucifix is my favorite, and now it is apple crucifix). The service was absolutely amazing every time I was there, and the management was also exceptional.
Had our anniversary dinner here after driving past many times wanted to try it out. Attached to windows in the front bar area. Have fun between 6:30 7 on Friday. It's still. Very friendly, knowledgeable server gave great food recommendations. Tasty Calamari. Seafood Panroast was AMAZING if you like salty/savory. Black salmon with Siesta key sauce was also amazing. Michigan Beerensalat was a pleasant summer side. Was not happy with my house Pinot Noir, but they have replaced it happy. Chocolate mousse has everything from tasty! Small outdoor terrace option with multiple tables exists back.
I went with my grandpa who uses a walker and has some difficult getting around and they were so accommodating and helpful from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. Amazing service and excellent food. They had a wide variety of options and such a fantastic dining atmosphere. I had the Michigan berry salad which was so fresh and delicious. I highly recommend stopping by!
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary and we couldn't have a better place! Loved the menu selection. They had a wide selection of seasonal dishes and cocktails! We had the pleasure of being served by Mike the bartender who has a great sense of humor. Very pleasant evening. I recommend the Deer Lake Inn!
