When Melbourne weather overwhelms you its nice to know that you can still get excellent Thai food in comfortable surroundings at good prices. I buy takeaway from here at least twice a month, but decided to dine in tonight. A good guide to how good the food is, is the happy sounds of people chatting and laughing. The food is excellent here and the ambience is excellent in the newly refurbished interior. Try the entrées, they are all excellent, my favorite is the salt and pepper calamari , for mains the massaman curry is wonderful. Service is attentive and friendly, extremely clean and welcoming, the girls dote on small children and make family groups welcome. A pearl in the Melbourne suburbs.
We have not been to this Restaurant since it changes hands. But, tonight we decided to give it a go as a delivery. With over a $100 order i must admit I expected more. The flavours were ok but at best stone cold to luke warm. We live within a 2 min walk of the restaurant. I even walked over there after an hour as we had tried to call and the phone kept ringing out. On arriving at the restaurant i saw that it was open then hubby called to say meal had arrived. Chicken was stone cold. Calamari was average. And the roti was pathetic. Next time we will just walk across to river thai as we should have done in the first place. This is Aussie Thai at the best.
Came here for the first time on a Friday night with my partner and his family. Service was prompt, restaurant had a great atmosphere. The food was all very fresh & made from good quality ingredients. Amongst the table we had yellow chicken curry, chilli basil stir fry, lamb cutlets and tom yum soup. All dishes were excellent, we will definitely be back!
Food here is great. I ordered the duck red curry and it was very tasty. All the other dishes in the restaurant were well presented and also looked good. The girls working here could use a little fine tuning from management, but they are well-meaning. I would definitely order their takeaway if I lived in the area.

We went for our second visit this week. The food is delicious and hard to match or beat elsewhere. We ordered the same as the previous time as it was hard to beat and also good value. My only complaint is the size of the Roti serve (compared to the local Indian restaurant). Otherwise happy to return again soon!
This is a lovely looking restaurant with friendly staff and value for money, yummy food.The menu has a good vegetarian selection.We had a banquet and all of the food was delicious. The green curry was one of the best we have ever eaten. The fried rice is really good too.We will definitely go back to Kun Yao.
I thought Brown Rice in Edithvale was good until I discovered this gem in Patterson Lakes. Definitely the best Thai food I've ever had. I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Each dish is better than the last but the Duck Red Curry is to die for and the Calamari starter is not to be missed.
Lovely food, and the interior makes you feel like dressing up a bit (but in something roomy, becasue the portions are decent) Friendly staff, good vegetarian selection for all the staple stir fry, noodle and curry options.

One of the best Thai resto I've been! Clean with friendly staff ,yummy thai food and best of all.. Young coconut water is so fresh and sweet!
Best Thai restaurant in suburbs. My lovely night was completed with yummy food and nice atmosphere. Highly recommended!
