Out for a meal after a day on the slopes, came across L'Arbre de Vie slightly off the main street. Got a table for four without a booking (Monday night) although it was full. Food was great - between us we had cod, tagine and prawns. A really nice mix for a French restaurant - Raclette and Fondue still available but other choices too if you are having a cheese overload. Profiteroles for dessert were stunningly good - just make sure you've had a hard day on the skis to burn off the calories! The tree in the centre is a wonderful centerpiece and adds to the generally quirky vibe. Overall a lovely dinner, price was pretty standard for the resort. Would definitely go again
Magnifique petit endroit à Val d'Isère, seulement au XI Bar! Le restaurant a réussi à nous accueillir en dernière minute et est même venu nous chercher lorsque nous avions du mal à le trouver! L'atmosphère est florissante dans le restaurant avec des gens qui rient et qui apprécient la nourriture et les boissons brillantes. Il semblait que la fondue et les raclettes étaient les favoris ici, mais nous avons choisi le burger... Oh, mon Dieu, incroyable! Assurez-vous d'avoir de l'appétit, la nourriture est copieuse et la qualité dépasse les attentes. Un bel endroit où je n'hésiterai pas à retourner!
Livre assez petit et très populaire quelques jours à l'avance. Personnel charmant et ambiance agréable. Bien mieux que ne le suggère son emplacement sans prétention dans un petit centre commercial. J'ai eu une excellente Veloute de la Forêt, 15 e mais ça vaut le coup, puis l'Entrecôte Simmental...qui était parfaitement cuite. Tous les plats traditionnels savoyards sont également disponibles Fondues, Raclette etc.
Nous étions une grande table de 16 personnes et le restaurant était très courtois, bien que certains de notre groupe étaient très bruyants. Le service était ponctuel, il y avait une bonne sélection de plats différents sur le menu pour satisfaire tout le monde et ce n'était pas trop cher. C'est un petit restaurant et il n'y avait qu'une petite toilette. Sinon, nous avons passé un bon moment là-bas.

We had a nice meal at l'Arbre. The place is on the small side, so I'd recommend a reservation. The menu has some nice options. Specifically, I really enjoyed the lamb tagine and would highly recommend that dish. The service was a bit slow, but friendly. Can't say that I loved the decor, but it didn't detract from the experience either. It's definitely a good option for a dinner out at Val.
Remember to book in advance. We arrived at 7pm & it was great with the place all for ourselves. Great food & service. The burger & entrecôte with blue cheese were fantastic. Same with the egg casserole & the foie gras with caramelized fig jam. The lamb was tasty but the sauce was too sweet. Big portions so come hungry.
Simple but original food of very good quality and good value for money in this expensive resort. I enjoyed a revisited version of the hamburger by the Chef. Only negative was that when the place got full the poor young lady had difficulty to cope with all the customers. Go early!
Great departure from typical French cuisine in the alps. Not the biggest menu but everything on it was delicious. Decent wine llst and friendly staff. Book in advance especially if it is Chalet host night off!

Great restaurant with fusion cuisine. Very nice and efficient staff. The interior with a "tree" is cool. Had the entrecote and the meat melted in my mouth! I do recommend this place for a nice dinner.
Super nourriture, cuisine franco-marocaine à Val d'Isère. Quel changement par rapport à la nourriture de montagne habituelle. Absolument délicieux.
