La Barca Ristorante

Came for lunch yesterday, the restaurant was full but comfortable. Was met with a smile and a handshake by the Manager and shown to our table. Decided not to have a starter but had the bread and olives which were excellent. Calves liver in butter and sage and fillet of beef which came with cherry tomatoes and a few chips were chosen. We also had sides of spinach and sautéed potatoes and A bottle of Regaleali a very palatable easy drinking red The food was outstanding and but for a small issue which was dealt with professionally by the assistant manager we had an enjoyable lunch and will return once again. This restaurant is just behind Waterloo station so convenient for South London. Like many family Italian restaurants it is quite predictable being busy, noisy and accompanied by personable staff. The service is good and the menu extensive. It will certainly fill you up. I can particularly recommend the pawn starters and veal with truffle main. Both delicious although not haute cuisine but great food. We were in a party of 8 and the bill worked out at £85 each including service. You can sit outside under an awning in good weather although the surroundings are certainly not picturesque.

Last minute find for pre-theatre dinner before going to the Old Vic. Oh my word. The food was amazing, the service was soooo slick. Hats off to them for their business model. Pretty impressive to get through 3 amazing courses plus coffee in just an hour. Never felt like we were under a time pressure for the show because service was so slick. And they did not compromise on quality. Obviously used to feeding theatre goers. I would highly recommend this restaurant and if I’m back at the Old Vic or just in this area for something else, I will definitely be back to this restaurant.

I had an amazing lunch at this restaurant with the most delicious food. They were able to make a vegetarian version of a dish on the menu with no problems. The food was incredibly tasty and served quickly. The staff were all polite and very attentive. The house wine was also excellent and we all had a great time. I will definitely be returning here in the future! Réservez une table maintenant

I had a fantastic dining experience at this hidden gem. The food was amazing, starting with the Burrata alla Sarda, followed by the Tagliata al Pepe Rosa, and finishing with the Panna Cotta. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was wonderful. I will definitely be coming back again in the future!

Needed quick service before a show called ahead and they took a pre order, which was ready as we arrived. Excellent service,excellent communications and brilliant lively restaurant. Will go back. The perfect place to go before a show, or after a show!

Top food Top service Top wine Top fish Top lobster Top everything But you have to’ more clearly say there is a service fee of 13.5% . Surely you wrote somewhere about that, but it should be top evident

We had a lovely evening at this Italian restaurant. It’s a authentic Italian with fresh pasta and lovely food. Our welcome was very warm and the food was delicious!

The food was incredibly delicious and the service was fantastic! I would definitely recommend trying the tiramisu, as it was the best I've ever had.
