Tired and hungry we pulled into the tree lined car park at the front of the hotel /restaurant no knowing what to expect. We agreed to book a room ,120 euros, and were ushered to our table straight away ,as it was quite late,8.30pm ish,and the restaurant was closing. The restaurant experience is exceptional.Sitting outside amongst the fabulous old lime trees ,we were offered an aperitif ,but opted for Cote de Rhone, wonderful ! ,recommended by the waiter ,who was very helpful. We ordered the 33 Euro set menu ,it was FANTASTIC ,some of the best food we have eaten in France.I have been coming to France for 60 years !and this was terrific.I later found out the chef is one of the best and has owned the place for over 37 years ,so he knows his way around the kitchen, and takes great pride in his work. After dinner we went to our huge super ,clean comfortable room ,with aircon (it was hot outside). We had a wonderful nights sleep as the windows are double, and the Hotel is on what must have been the original road ,but now in an almost layby situation. Can`t wait to call again and have the foie gras with white truffle !and I`m not usually a fan of truffle, but the balance was perfect.

I was there on April 2012 after a referral of a friend of mine. This restaurant is a family owned and is known in the area near Chateuneuf du Pape in France as the best black truffles there. It is located at RN 5 (National Road 5) at the small village of Mondragon. April is not the season of black truffles (ends on February) but nevertheless I had a wonderful lunch based on truffles. I also was surprised not only with the quality of the food but with the wine list as well. An amazing wine list and a beautiful winecellar with all the best French wines and some Italians as well. The service is like at house quite familiar and nice. You will not pay much for the food and not even for the wine. Don't lose this restaurant if you are near Avignon, Montelimar or Chateuneuf du Pape in France.

Arrived in the hot sun mid afternoon, our rooms were pleasant and modern. No swimming pool and nothing else to do in the area.Hosts are very French..Food is of a very good standard. Only 8 people dining on a Thursday in June. 2 local winemakers, no other locals.Incredible wine list and worth coming here thst alone if you are remotely in to wine.I asked to see the cellar/cave, which was greete with yesy yes yes later. So no I couldnt.
