We were staying at the Gite opposite La Bellone and decided to visit on our last evening as it was my wife 's Birthday. We booked for 7.00pm and arrived on time a 30Metre stroll away On arrival we were asked if we would like to eat inside or outside. We chose inside and were shown to a table by the sliding patio doors which were slightly open letting in a cool breeze.After sitting down the menu and wine list arrived and we ordered our pre dinner drinks. The menu is not extensive but gave a choice of 5 starters and approx.10 main courses. The wine list offers some interesting choices. A complimentary dish of fish mousse accompanied by small pieces of toast and olives soon arrived at the table...

L'apparence de l'extérieur est qu'il est fermé, même quand ce n'est pas le cas! Il est fermé toute la journée le mercredi, ainsi que les mardis et les dimanches soirs. Les vitrines donnant sur la rue sont sombres et il n'y a pas de panneaux habituels à l'extérieur. Voir la photo! Nous sommes d'accord avec le précédent critique concernant la qualité élevée de la nourriture, mais nous avons trouvé que le service, bien que pas très amical au début, s'est réchauffé au fur et à mesure que les plats arrivaient et nous avons été récompensés par un léger sourire en discutant avec la propriétaire alors que nous réglions l'addition. Nous étions six à déjeuner ici, lorsque nous étions en visite chez des amis à proximité. Nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis et avons partagé le restaurant avec un autre groupe plus important, célébrant un 80e anniversaire. Malgré cela, le service était excellent et nous ne nous sommes jamais sentis exclus. Le menu proposait un choix attrayant et varié, et notre déjeuner était délicieux et bien présenté. Le restaurant ne cherche pas à être trop sophistiqué et cela n'est pas nécessaire, car une grande partie de son attrait réside dans son atmosphère confortable. Aucun d'entre nous n'est reparti déçu, bien au contraire, et nous reviendrons certainement ici.

Six of us went out to lunch here, when we were staying with friends nearby. We were welcomed warmly and shared the restaurant with another, larger party, celebrating an 80th birthday. Nonetheless, the service was excellent and in no way did we feel we were being left out. There was an appealing and varied choice on the menu and our lunch was delicious and well presented. The restaurant doesn't try to be too smart and it doesn't need to be, as much of its appeal is in its comfortable atmosphere. None of our party left disappointed - quite the opposite - and we would certainly return here.

C'est super de trouver un restaurant de qualité à notre porte. Le personnel est très accommodant et attentif. Bien que le menu ne soit pas très étendu, les plats sont bien présentés et préparés à partir d'ingrédients frais.
Good to find a quality restaurant on our doorstep. Very accommodating, attentive staff. Not an extensive menu but well presented and prepared from fresh ingredients.
