During our 40th anniversary trip to the Big Island, we dined at La Bourgogne on July 4th. They offer a three-course meal for $125, and every dollar was well spent. We started with French Onion Soup, which had a uniquely rich and excellent flavor unlike any other we've had. The daily special, Beef Bourguignon, featured filet over noodles in a rich, reduced red wine sauce that was a revelation. For dessert, we each chose something different, both of which were exceptional. the best culinary experience in kona. we were in 5 star restaurants that do not compare. eating is exemplary. the portions can appear small (if they are in quantity rather than quality, stay home), but the eating is rich and tasty. the owner is gracious and makes a great job to combine the perfect wein with each cure. the waiting staff is friendly and accommodating. eating and crying, as well as the regular menu, is worth every penny. Try it. if they like to eat delicious, they will not be disappointed.
A special hideaway. Step into a French transformation and be treated to amazing cuisine, beautifully presented with personal service from the head chef. It’s not often the head chef comes to discuss the menu with you prior to ordering. If you’re after something truely special, La Bourgogne will not disappoint. We loved our visit. intimate family restaurant! amazing service from beginning to end! my partner and I were hesitant to order food because we have never eaten cherry and rabbits, but the cook that was also our server told us not to worry! we still dream of the soße in which the Frog-Attizer was. every plate has literally overlapped! will eat again definitiw. it is a French country cuisine!

that was a gift for us from the family for our special occasion. they had decorated the table for us and were very friendly. we got the duck and the lamb. eating was absolutely amazing and extremely unusual. the prices are good. pretty steep. some of the things I would say are 4 dollar signs, not 3. we had a great experience!
This spot was so good, my husband and I went twice in two weeks on a recent trip to Kona. Not only was the food excellent but the place is run by a lovely family that was a pleasure to connect with over two visits. We’re definitely going back on our next trip and I expect many future visits in the coming years.
we had the escargot, foie gras with scallops, baked brie, lamb back and chocolate soaps. everything was 10/10. they can taste the know-how and the love in every dish. our top picks were the foie gras with scallops and rack of lamb. we will come back every time we visit the big island!
Awesome experience. Extremely friendly staff, very small intimate setting. Staff was kind and involved, perfect service. Food was to die for. Duck and veal were cooked to perfection and the taste was beautiful. Wonderful cocktails as well. Would 100% go again.

Superb cuisine, well worth the price point. Dining experience is intimate, and you get very personalized service in this family-operated restaurant. Due to smaller size, making a reservation is the courteous thing to do
