Always looking for places open on Sundays, places to have coffee and cake after a hike in the countryside, and places with friendly staff - well, La Buritaz fulfills all these needs. Pleasant Swiss country-style cafe-cum-resto (pretty large inside) with friendly staff and a relaxed feel. Traditional and simple Swiss chalet decor. In warm weather, they have a huge outdoor seating area where you can catch rays - kids and pets will also be happy here with the open space and the playground. The "tarte a la raisinee", a tarte made with the treacle-ish result of slow-cooked wine, is a specialty of the area and very nice. I have seen families come in large groups for festive meals (lunch and dinner...
This place used to be one of my favorite restaurants because of the great cuisine, service and location. However my last visit has been very disappointing. Instead of a nice table in the restaurant (completely empty on a Friday night), we got a table in another room which felt more like a pub. And everything else was accordingly... The lady who welcomed us was quite unfriendly, we got 2 menus for a table of 6, the choice was comparable to any Swiss restaurant in the area so no more fine cuisine, and the food was not freshly cooked and much too salty. All in all it was too expensive for what we got.
This is a lovely place for the whole family with extensive grounds, lawn and playgrounds for the little ones. It's ideal to spend a lazy Sunday. They offer a very extensive brunch which is often fully booked weeks in advance! Sometimes you can arrive if it's good weather and they'll rustle an extra table for you. Food is international with a Swiss tint.Service can be a little slow when they're busy.
We went for a dinner with a friend. Good he was French since the staff is not able to coomunicate in English ;) but service was great, very welcoming. It is not a posh place one can feel quite relaxed. Food was good, simple and rustical. Prices like like prices in Switzerland.... All to all nice experiance in the cottahe style

Went there for a brunch on 09/08/2015, between 10.30 and 15.00 plenty of breakfast things all freshly prepared it was raining so everyone had to sit inside and the barbeque was done under cover so things were a bit dampened the hot food was bacon,sausages,steaks and even omelete, nice place for children and very busy.
I would highly recommend this restaurant which is so close to Geneva and Lausanne with good food and good wines from the region. The service is very cordial and attentive. Overal a great place to enjoy and tke in the beUty of the place. Highly...recommended for those who love good food and friendly service.

Beautiful location and very friendly staff. Playground for kids and nice views. Will go back! Meal was good, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Up on a hill, so could be a place to hike to and back for lunch. Very pretty views too!

it was a great experience. great service, great ambiente and great eating! the situation may seem a bit far when they go at night, but when they arrive there, they feel like they reach an oasis.
Its maybe one of the Best restaurent around the area. Food/ambiance/staff....name it. I loved it. Def going again..and owner is super humble. I heard brunch is too good...must try next TIME.
