Arrived at 6pm on a Friday night no booking, young staff member had to check with boss if there were any tables, even though only 2 tables were occupied. We were shown a table, given menus, when we asked for 2 wine glasses , byo $8 corkage, 5 minutes past and young male staff member arrived to take our order, we asked about the wine glasses. He said "shes busy taking an order wont be long?" Not sure why he couldn't pick up 2 wine glasses? Ordered a small foccacia as an entree, pizza as a main to share, he then asked what size foccacia we wanted?and if we wanted to order an entree! Specials on blackboard not mentioned. All in all a faulty towers episode.On a cold night, it was quite cool inside the restaurant with food quickly becoming cold.
Went to La Capanna on a Saturday night and they managed to find us a table despite how busy they were. The staff were friendly and relaxed which made our experience all the more better. The food was super tasty, authentic and reasonably priced..would recommend for familes, however a very large table was there (having something off the banquet menu) so it is clear they happily take large reservations! Not only is the food good, it doesn't take too long to come out - which is surprising as I was walking past the kitchen and I noticed it was quite small! All in all, La Capanna is still going strong, despite the demise of old kingston. A great experience, would definitely recommend!
