La Cave Des Creux

Family of four with 2 adult kids were brought to eat here by our ski guide who has lived in Val Thorens all his life. He booked this for the day we skied to Couchevel. We ate very different foods, and all enjoyed it and we will be back when we ski next year. Husband and I are vegan for the planet and our health, and we had Wok dish as most vegan. One son and guide had burgers and said delicious. One son had the Travers de Porc and loved it. One son and guide had desserts too. Pricey but good. Loos clean which is good in France. We will be back when we ski next year.

I reviewed La Cave des Creux on 16 Feb 2020 and gave it an excellent rating, resolving to revisit with our group of four again to spend a little longer on some cake indulgence. Soooo super-disappointed. Quite simply, if you value your customers, you serve them, it's not rocket science. Placing the menu on the table, then failing to return to take an order, is not a good method to win over customers. It might have been because the restaurant was busy, but it clearly wasn't. So after a reasonable time, we left. I doubt we will return to La Cave des Creux next year.

Visited twice this trip both times were excellent. First visit had the ribs which were superb, vegetable noodles were also enjoyed by two of us sat outside on the terrace enjoying the sun and great service. Second visit, in somewhat more inclement weather, inside (essentially! looked after by a lovely lady, Enis, who couldn’t have been more attentive. Had an amazing tartare de boeuf the cafe gourmande!!!! Enjoy.

Quite nice rest. Try the lamb on Thursdays. Prices a bit salty but some reasonable options. Dessert is a must. Don’t leave without trying!

Nothings beats eating delicious food in the sun with some live music! Very professional staff and sun hats are provided.
