Today I have been eating with a childhood friend and after years without visiting the bier and the ponferrada, I have been pleasantly surprised. Ponferrada currently does not have in general good restaurants and less imaginative cuisine and this is all. good raw material and good processing. rations for me perfect to leave nothing on the dish and good value for money. The only thing I would ask the kitchen staff is to avoid voices and discussions with the service, gives a very bad image and today I go to the bathrooms to witness it. you have to take care of the last detail and this last thing seems regrettable.
sitio muy bonito, con personalidad, ubicación algo difícil( no está fácil llegar si no lo conoces). Atención del personal muy buena( tal vez un poco encima del cliente. Cena en familia,carta corta ,buen producto y elaboración ,muy rico todo,aunque escasas las cantidades.No es barato,al contrario viendo las cantidades. Pongo agridulce experiencia porque tienen algún detalle que no me parece correcto..por ejemplo el reponer pan a cada comensal en cuanto ven que se te ha acabado ,y resulta que es porque a la hora de cobrar ,te cobran cada trozo( si lo cobras así,al menos avisarlo,xke no me parece correcto).
Probamos varios platos, todos muy ricos : ensalada de garbanzos con ventresca, aliñada con una vinagreta deliciosa. El rape con chipirones estaba buenísimo: tierno y sabroso, pero en los postres, Jesús, un enamorado de la cocina en quien se nota que disfruta con su trabajo, nos dio un arroz con leche delicioso, una tarta “edición limitada” de nata y hojaldre nada empalagosa con la que disfrutamos muchísimo. Por el trato recibido, la profesionalidad del personal y el amor a la cocina, le pongo la máxima puntuación.
I was passing La Central while walking the Camino de Santiago footpath with a friend. It was hot, so we popped in for an ice-cream and were wowed' by the food and the service. Despite being a couple of scruffy hikers, we were warmly welcomed...and enjoyed the best dessert I've had for months. It was perfect, and great value. The team were happy and chatty a lovely memory from my trip. If you're walking the Camino, make sure you treat yourself to lunch here. It's right on the path, a little outside town.

My friend and I are walking el camino de Santiago, we were passing La Central as we walked by the river and stopped for a coffee. The chef happened to be there when we asked what snacks they had and made suggestions, calamares and tomatoes...and queso salada. The food was incredible. We kept eating and had courses. Each was more than delicious, it was euphoric and we were getting more and more happy. Thank you so much to the chef and our incredible waiter.
Obligada Parada en este restaurante en Ponferrada . Platos propios con estilo, sinfonía de sabores, con productos de primera . Buena bodega de vinos del BIERZO, Godellos y para rematar fantásticos postres que coronan una buenísima comida . El chef encantador, muy amigable y que cuida de la sala interesándose de qué los comensales estén disfrutando de sus platos . Muy recomendado
