La chaize gourmand We passed by this restaurant and stopped to look at the menu. The chef came to the door and we had a chance to chat with him and he was extremely genial and welcoming and we booked a table for the same lunchtime.A smart, new restaurant with simple and tasteful decor. A warm welcome and a fine menu. A good selection of things from which to choose, all seasonal and tempting. The wine list was relatively simple but with a good selection. We opted for the three course menu prix fixe at €29 but other cheaper options were available. A lovely small verrine of light sweet potato and Indian spice mousse was served with our aperitif. There were various chef's recommendations which could be interchanged with the menu and we both chose the Foie Gras served with a red onion marmalade and some lightly pickled radish, onion and micro herbs. It was creamy, delicious, rich and yummy. And the onion cut through the richness with artful skill. This was followed by 'filet de canette' ... A tasty duck breast with a rich sweet caramelised shallot and jus surrounded by small amounts of beautifully cooked small pieces of vegetables, ..... Celery, beetroot, spinach, celeriac, mushroom, romanesco and an artful smear of the butter-iest, tastiest carrott purée. The duck was sliced and cooked pink and was full of flavour and taste.Pudding was a seasonal dish of Reines-claudes, roasted and served with a sweet wine gelee, crème au chocolat and tiny cubes of buttery, sweet, crunchy brioche and raspberry. A stunning end to a wonderful meal.We liked it so much we immediately booked to come back later in the week, and warmly recommend this lovely, new restaurant with its talented chef and charming front of house.

We went as a large group for a Christmas meal. The set menu had 2 choices for each course and all seemed to be very nice. The restaurant sits in the centre of a quiet pretty little village. I was disappointed with the children's meal for our 3 year old - we had phoned in advance to ask for something suitable like sausages but they gave him the same veal dish as the adults which was a bit too sophisticated for him and he didn't like it, and having not eaten the main he wasn't offered anything else. I also found the pricing a bit cheeky, there was a 3 course menu on offer for a set price but both starters and 1 main carried a supplementary price. That said, for the adults, this was a delicious meal and the restaurant is a welcome addition to La Chaize Giraud.

Went for our date night and wanted something different from the usual coastal affair of crepes/pizza or moules and we wernt dissapointed, really lovely setting newly renovated fresh and modern, comfy chairs and a great atmosphere, food just how we like, looks as good as it tastes! We had apero, bottle of wine, three courses and coffee for under a 100€ was worth it and would return without hesitation.

set menu €29 for 3 courses. Really delicious veg starter. Stunning presentation. Hubby had lovely lamb dinner, I had sea bass. Served with a range of tasty bits including a nice carrot purée. Dessert was citron tart and chocolate plate. Both stunning. With 1 aperitif, 4 glasses wine and coffee the bill came to €86. Delicious meal in beautiful restaurant with relaxed and very pleasant service.
