So I've been here before and their carne asada was pretty good. I even bought some for my coworkers. Well I decided to come back over here today for lunch and order the carne asada again and it was totally different. The meat was white and tasted bland like turkey. I asked the waitress if they gave me carne asada and she said yes. I've lived in California my whole life and I've eaten all types of carne asada but I've never had carne asada that tasted like turkey until today. Sorry guys but that might be my last time eating at La Charrita
New favorite spot in Santa Clarita!!! Lots of places have vegetarian and vegan options now, right? Okay, sure, but this place has an entire menu dedicated to veggie food! So many great options! Plus, I actually like that they still serve meat because therest of my family was still happy going there. Next point: my family loved everything we got! I went with my dad and grandma,who are both 100% Mexican, and they thought the food was awesome and authentic. I?m super looking forward to getting to trysomething new every time I visit SCV.
However, I thought the $4 horchata was a bit pricey. It tasted like it was homemade, as they claimed, which was nice, but the flavor was somewhat weak, and the portion felt small for the price. Also, I wasn't a fan of the music; it was a bit too loud and consisted of Latin guitar covers of popular songs. If I had the option, I might have turned it down or off, but it was tolerable. On a positive note, our waitress was fantastic—she was pleasant and very helpful.
For a Mexican place I was disappointed specifically with the prices and the amount off food you are receiving! Tell me why I only ordered 8 tacos and a quesadilla and I paid over 60 dollars! There are far more options in Santa clarita and betteroptions at that for Mexican food for that price

A lovely hidden gem! The salsa was fantastic—not your usual red variety. The food was freshly made and not frozen. Overall, it's a great spot for flavorful dishes.
