Four of us stopped for the plat de jour salad, chicken with small pasta and a choice of deserts. Welcoming staff, nice outdoor eating area, clean toilets. Meal was very good, we had different deserts see photos : crepe brûlée, merangue with ice cream and by far the best a cafe gourmand (if you’ve never had one of these it’s a coffee with a selection of the deserts on one plate)! With 1/2 carafe of rose wine, a couple of coffees and a lemoncello the whole lot came to €100 which we thought was good value. If you stop off here don’t miss visiting the chartreuse on the hill before carrying on up Col Colombière and if you are cycling then good luck!

Despite several attempts to contact this place to stay for the night, since they do advertize rooms, they would nenver pick up the phone nor answers emails. Pour tous cyclistes qui essaient de planifier à éviter à tous prix. Service industry, means a certain level of service to offer. Not leaving a number to be reached on your voice mail and then not even picking up there either. Jamais la chartreuse a eu la gentillesse de répondre à notre courriel, ni nous appels numéreux sur une période de quleques jours.

A lovely monastery in a peaceful area. Situated above le reposoir village. The monastery is almost 1000 years old and was created by the disciples o St Bruno from the Chartreuse valley. It is now occupied by sisters. You can visit alone of with a guide that is worth it as he will explain a lot of things about the history over the centuries. There is a beautiful lake next to it and some space for picnicking. The monastery has a little shop where you can by plants and other artifacts made by the nuns.

Only spent one night here but the room, evening meal, breakfast and service were all excellent. Thoroughly recommended situated in a lovely village. Well worth a visit if you get the chance.
