La Chatelaine French Bakery & Bisto

I go here every time I'm in Columbus visiting my cousins. It's pricy, but it's so good. I always get a Croque Madame (French bread, Bechamel, Gruyere, ham baked sandwich topped with an over easy egg , French roast coffee, and some kind of dessert or pastry (this time chocolate mousse . As you can see in this photo I spent $28, so it's definitely a splurge for the experience type of situation here (at least for me, I couldn't bring myself to regularly spend that much on a single meal even if I could afford it. The coffee is fantastic. It's $4 and they have to-go cups (which they let me take a cup to go even after drinking an unhealthy amount while shooting the breeze with my cousins and a friend in the restaurant . If you're a Starbucks person (I am not I think you're used to spending that much or more for your coffee, so you may want to stop to get your cup here one day to see if you like it better.

Had the cinnamon Rosin Croissant and the Croque Monsieur, also tried the spinach string of my friend, they were absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly and answered our questions. The interior was beautiful and there is also a beautiful outdoor seating area. There is a comfortable parking next to the building.

A hidden gem for sure. To find this gem, I did a Goggle search...I had the French Toast Hot Chocolate. The Hot Chocolate is homemade with rich milk Chocolate!!! It's definitely on the pricey side. But, amazingly delicious! I'm not use to drinking Hot Chocolate out of a mug without a handle...

Have you ever had a chocolate mouse? These are a party in your mouth! They start with a shortbread cookie bottom with Swiss meringue buttercream that was piped into the shape of a mouse, then covered with drizzled dark chocolate as well as the cookie. It's Heaven!

great personal. stationary and friendly, pointed out what was all they know for. baked goods and their breakfast items are delish. I have dined alone, really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere also via a cup of self-service coffee...loves, will be back!
