La Cidrerie - Réserver une table

Unfortunately visiting Mont de Marsen for the day with friends, we took a chance on this restaurant and selected menu of the day. The soup was great, unfortunately the rest of the meal was a sad disappointment. We should have realised as there were only...two other people in the restaurant. The outside area is pleasing, but diners are allowed to smoke, had the restaurant been busy, we would not have been comfortable with people smoking around us. All in all, this was probably the most disappointing meal we have experienced at lunchtime in France.

the food was good, but we had a hard time to order because nobody speaks English there. I know that mont de marsan is not a popular destination for foreign tourists, but they should do something about it. the catalog has two plates. the same name la ciderie and the waiter wrogly wrote the order. he was annoyed from the beginning, even if we had a jack over 400€ at the end.

service was the main problem here! the eating was good, although the waiter could not speak English or understand at all. there was a misunderstanding with our order, but the waiter could not admit his mistake and he became angry. at the end, we just paid, and nobody apologised.

Lovely food and wine choice, in this unpretentious little find. Good value for money too. Pleasantly surprised that they had live jazz style music, which was very good and not intrusive at all.

we have visited la ciderie several times and it always surpasses the expectations. friends from Britain were impressed.
