La Consigne - Réserver une table

We stopped in for breakfast. My wife just wanted toast and coffee; I wanted eggs (omelette). Her toast and coffee was 7€... a very small cup of coffee and one slice of thin white bread. I asked if they have brown bread to which the waitress responded “I don’t think so”. There cannot be that much bread inventory that you don’t know if you brown bread or not. The omelette was just as plain. You could have called it scrambled eggs: there was no cheese or anything else (but there was no offer to add anything to it anyway). 18€ for two small cups of coffee, 2 slices of toast, and omelette. I will not make that mistake again.

Je me suis arrêté seul pour le déjeuner. J'ai pris une soupe (au menu du jour, change tous les jours) et un fromage blanc. Tout était simple mais bon et c'est ce que l'on attend d'un tel endroit. Ils ont aussi un menu du jour qui semble bon. Il y a beaucoup de circulation car c'est sur le boulevard Montparnasse mais c'est un super endroit pour prendre un bain de soleil. La dame qui servait était très gentille, efficace et avait un très bon sens du service.

We stopped here for a meal with some friends who were in Paris from the US, the food was OK, not great. Our waiter was a little too familiar and slightly rude about attempts to speak in French and the service was on the slow side. It wasn't bad just doesn't merit a second visit!

I know it has received several bad references but my experience was good. I just take two coffes there. The service was quick (there was not a lot of people) and the waiters were gentle. The only thing I didnt like was the minimum to pay with the card (it is high).

We had lunch in this restaurant, staff is smiley helpful. Food was great, specially the Tartare raw meat . Had a nice time
