I highly recommend La Contrada. Food was absolutely delicious. It is a small, unassuming Italian-Mediterranean restaurant in a plain neighborhood to the west of the train station. The owner, Naim Ben Dhafer, genuinely enjoys serving delicious food and interacting with the clientele. When we told...him we enjoyed our dinner, he was so happy that he went skipping down the aisle! Nobody spoke much English, so ordering was a challenge, but if one is prepared to order without knowing exactly what you'll get, the sense of surprise was well worth it. After returning to Zurich for the first time in many years I was delighted to dine at such an exciting place. Eating out used to be a pretty dour affair in Zurich in the 1990s.
