"We have visited this restaurant every year for the past 29 years but now the decoration is of a workman’s cafe with bare tables and strip lighting, no gourmet menu and surly badly dressed staff. bordering on the disdainfull such a shame as we have enjoyed many years of excellence. This may be the last sep. 18th"

We had an enjoyable meal, but this was the first time we had been back since the pandemic and things have changed. The restaurant has changed hands since our last visit in 2020 so it is appropriate to review what they are doing now, rather than compare what they are doing now with how the restaurant was previously. It is no longer a fine dining experience in the traditional sense but that is not to diminish the dining experience. It was an attractive menu and a good wine list. We enjoyed rouget, oysters tuna and veal all beautifully cooked. The main dishes tended to be garnished with fruit, which I understand is part of the chef 's objective to enhance the seafood, and that put an interestin...

It had been sometime since our last visit with a thing called the pandemic limiting such a venture but thankfully we were, at last, able to visit again. We normally like to eat up on the terrace but this time ate inside on the ground floor mainly given the evening was quite cool. We both went with starters, shrimp carpaccio (unusual dish) for the wife and fresh sardines for me and, boy, were both of them good. Moving to the mains, my wife went with the monkfish risotto and me the lamb dish with the WOW factor continuing as both were delicious! I skipped the dessert deciding to finish off the rest of an excellent local red wine but my wife carried on and chose a pear ‘tarte tatin’ which again...

Booked in advance in person and the very friendly staff reserved a table out of the way as we were bringing our dogs. Straight away a bowl of water for them and menus and carte de vins for us. Every plate was perfection in taste and look, the wine was delicious and the service was impeccable attentive, friendly and not in any way rushed. Very chatty and relaxed. I can't understand how people could criticise this place. But we were upstairs... Maybe downstairs is different. Thank you Côte Vermeille for a spectacular birthday lunch.

We had dinner at La Cote Vermeille. The restaurant was full so we were seated on the terrasse which was fine by us. The view is nice but the setting is rather plain as was the wellcome and the service. We didn't feel like eating a menu and so we choose both to have two starters each for dinner. The food was good, fresh and well prepared and so was the housewine. The bill for our modest repas was surprisingly high.
