La Creperie de Benodet

After visiting this restaurant you might think that you have never experienced this kind of service, food and comfort anywhere else in your life! Now I have visited a lot of places in the last few years but really, the manager of this little creperie gives exactly that kind of attention, whoops sorry, wrong word...LOVE to any of his customers. We didn't made a reservation and we were actually looking for another creperie near Fouesnant but couldn't find. But after searching for nearly 45 minutes and seeing a roadsign pointing to Benodet I made the decision to go there immediately. If you're not looking for a creperie you get to see hundreds of them, if you are looking for them you can't find any hahaha. But because we didn't made a reservation we had to wait in line outside. The manager frequently came outside explaining customers about the heavy traffic and informed them about the waiting time. He even pointed impeding people to the door. He kept a close eye on whose turn it was for a table!After a 15 minutes wait we could sit down. The inside of the restaurant looked very modern and cozy. We ordered a pancake with butter and sugar, Nutella, one with egg and some kind of tomato and I had the 'Belle Hélène'...The kids could dig in as soon as the pancakes arrived. My wife had the egg/-tomato pancake but found it so so. I was still waiting for Beautiful Hélène...but when it arrived I could not describe otherwise than an aircraft carrier! It was huge!All pancakes were bakes until a crisp and wow, I couldn't remember what the last time was I had such an incredible pancake as this one.Our oldest son wasn't quiet satisfied yet, so we ordered two more pancakes, of course...not the warship size but the normal ones )-;Price was very much okay! Together with the kindness of the personel, really a bargain. No wonder this place is packed every day! I can recommend anyone to go to this creperie. Around the corner there are free parking spaces.I would give this a six star!

As per previous reviews galletes and crepes were good. Service too and whilst busy (people were turned away and asked to return later) you weren't made to feel rushed to finish and vacate your table. However we had a hefty amount of tax added to our bill and wondered if this had happened to others. I couldn't see on the menus displayed outside or inside that prices excluded tax. I also didn't think the quoting of prices excluding tax was no longer allowed on France.

Delicious and extensive range of crepes - the Fouenantaise was my choice, goats cheese with prunes - it was great. My partner enjoyed salmon with a lemon cream sauce. We both had apples with caramel to finish - lovely. A warm welcome, nice wine and friendly service too - can understand why this place is so popular. A friend was unable to get a table the other day and has had to book in advance - this may be the best thing to do if you plan to visit in the evening.

The place is friendly and welcoming. The crepes are very tasty. The owner is very egalitarian when customers come and have to wait or come back later. Advisable to book if you don't want to wait

Excellent choice of savoury and sweet crepes. The staff were very welcoming. Would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area.
