We don't often go out for breakfast in Spain, but on the day that we are due to drive to the airport to return home, it is sometimes convenient to do so. We hadn't intended to go to La Farola, but the first two restaurants that we had thought of where both closed. I ordered an English breakfast, without baked beans (in my view, baked beans with a cooked breakfast is American, not English! and my wife had a slice of tortilla and a tostada con tomate. My wife's tortilla was a larger slice than we expected (so I got to share! , and was very nice, as was her tostada. My English breakfast was OK. The bacon was English style and not the wispy bits that the Spanish normally use and the sausage was quite nice too. The fried eggs were a little over cooked for my taste and it would have been nice to have a tomato. Still, it set us up for the drive to Alicante.

Terrible service and the food, when it eventually arrived, wasn’t much better. Cold beans, eggs, etc. 2 bacon rolls in our order, one came after 30 minutes, the other another half hour later. Took 50 minutes to bring out a tortilla tapas portion. Staff seemed to serve the locals much quicker. Witnessed one chef ripping up an order ticket and throwing it on the floor in disgust, and the staff members who take orders didn’t even notice. Ripped up ticket stayed on floor for duration of our (lengthy) stay. Chaos. Whoever runs the kitchen is clueless.

Great location. I have visited here many times over the years. Their menu del dia has always been excellent. However this was a late breakfast visit. They were not busy. Service was so slow and waiter really didn't seem to want to be there ! It took 25 minutes to get a tostada. Food was OK but nothing more.

This place had a makeover a few years ago... it's just show and is meaningless! From the food and service it's still a dump... an expensive dump! The food is vastly overpriced! They bring to the table items you didn't order and then charge you for them. PEOPLE...DON'T GO! IT'S EXPENSIVE TRASH!
