We deliberately booked the hotel next to the Ferme Gourmande for our last night in France in order to enjoy a good French meal before returning home.We have visited this restaurant on and off for the last 17 years and were looking onward to returning.On arrival they dumped some appetizers down on the table and walked off without telling us what they were. I had to call them back because my partner has food allergies and it was important that we knew what we had been given. We then both ordered a steak , and I have eaten steak here before and found it good and the accompanying sauce excellent. My suspicions should have been aroused when there was talk of a reconstituted baked potato accompany...
What can I say - huge disappointment - absolutely dreadful first meal on holiday - starter - pate - could not eat it - chicken in a chicken soup sauce followed by bitter desert - slow cooked beef - still hard, chip - rejected by the queen of chips & and cheese board - oh dear! No bread or biscuit - literally cheese and raisins - one of the worse meals ever in France and 96e for 4 - disappointed to say the least!
Nous avons choisi ce restaurant grâce a ce siteEt comme d habitude nous ne sommes pas déçu!!!Nous avons pris la formule " Gourmande"Tous étaient frais, bien présentés.Nous avons extrêmement bien mangé.C'est le meilleur restaurant dans cette catégorie où nous avons été!!Si un jour nous revenons par ici, on sais où manger!!!Sans oublier le Service : au TOP.MERCI
We have eaten here many times and standard has varied. Food is expensive but the last two meals were well worth it. The trouble is there is very little atmosphere - piped music would help. I agree with some reviews that staff attitudes can vary -on our last they were very attentive.
