La Fourchette des Ducs

Went to the restaurant yesterday while snow was pouring outside. We took the tasting menu and result was at worldwide level. This is a hidden gem in Alsace. Dishes were this time blue lobsters from Brittany, John Dori filet from Normandy, lamb from the Pyrenees,...Brie from the Paris region reinvented. The best part was the desert a simple pear with melted chocolate but done a at a level of technique that made me cry (better than my mom's). we had dined a few days earlier in the villa rené llique in wingen sur moder. that was perhaps the best meal of our life. as both restaurants have two michelin stars, we also expected great things from this restaurant. Unfortunately, it wasn't the case. the service was excellent and exactly what they would expect for a michelin 2-star restaurant. the decoration was also ok. the problem here was cooking quality. the food we were served did not deserve minchelin stars. not even close. it was small and well presented, but the taste was simply not there. the most remarkable failure was a ground chicken patty for the main course. it was beautifully decorated and pretty, but it tasted like, well,...

we had the pleasure to spend an evening meal in the la fourchette with my wife and children. the restaurant was closed for 7 months due to covid and reopened before a week. the evening meal was one of the best foods my wife had and I had ever lived somewhere and we lived in ny, South America and Australia and we know good eating when we have it. . spectacular eating, the service was overwhelming. super nice people, great setting, perfect local wein pairing suggestion would recommend each of my friends to go out of their way to have dinner there. absolutely worth it.

the third time in la fourchette and it is still better. that's the best restaurant I was in. all the dishes were perfect, balanced and beautiful, full of aromen, textures and surprises. the wine card is impressive. the personal ate so nice. they do their work. seen, but noticed. they earn any positive criticism they can get it, but I value every cent spent.

second visit five years later and all our expectations were fulfilled! special mention of the sommelier, which suggested the perfect wine with the food and my vallet. it is expensive, but if you can afford it or find it worth the money esvis a great. experience all dishes (menu libre emotion) were clogged to perfection.
