This restaurant was recommended by the owner of Coup de Fourchette, also in La Rivière Saint Sauveur, as his was fully booked see review) The setting is very rural although it is only 3km from the centre of Honfleur. Access is via a 200m narrow track arriving at a parking area a few steps from the hotel 10 bedrooms) and restaurant entrance. We were greeted and seated by Estelle in the contemporarily decorated dining area. The other diners, as they arrived, included French and English families. Low key jazz music in the background broke the initial quiet whilst we we contemplating the blackboard menu over Kir Normand apéritifs. We had a little trouble finding this hotel, but we're glad we did. A track is pulled down and our SATnav did not see it to locate. But we're so glad we finally found it. We were welcomed by our smiling host. Our room was upstairs, very clean and so comfortable! We wanted to eat at the restaurant, but we're not under pressure. After a walk around Honfleur we returned to dinner. It was absolutely wonderful. Large kitchen, nicely cooked and served with a smile. Our host was speaking English and that helped us to understand the complexity of the menu. A supper to remember! A good night's sleep meant we were back in the restaurant for our delicious breakfast. Nous rendons visite à Estelle et Bill au moins deux fois par an et ce depuis plus de 10 ans et ils ne nous ont jamais accueillis ni nourris à merveille. Votre menu est simple mais bien cuisiné et présenté. Lorsque nous emmenons nos grands enfants, ils les traitent comme s'ils étaient les leurs. Il ne fait aucun doute que nous reviendrons toujours.
Nous rendons visite à Estelle et « Bill's » depuis plus de 10 ans et sommes maintenant accueillis comme de vieux amis. Le menu est simple mais très bien préparé et présenté depuis la cuisine de Bill et servi par Estelle avec une efficacité discrète. Caché, mais très enrichissant dans la recherche.
