Ce petit endroit, que nous avons visité par un midi ensoleillé de juillet, a été une très bonne surprise du côté de Cauterets. Ce n'est pas branché, il y a une vue sur les montagnes au loin qui ne peut qu'apprécier, et surtout, la carte simple et la carte des vins proposent des plats frais ou typiques du pays basque qui vous apaiseront pour de bon. Le vin est bon, mais étonnamment approprié, et ce qui a fait ma journée a été la dégustation inhabituelle de génépi (alcool fort) faite par la dame qui dirige l'endroit, et les deux sont très réconfortants. Allez, ne manquez pas ce petit endroit joyeux.
As their hours are not easily understood we stopped in for lunch at 11:30 am. It is a long winding one lane road to get there- be prepared to pull over to allow other vehicles to pass. The pastoral view is outstanding and many people leave their cars here to hike in the area. Several people were sitting around in front of the restaurant at tables. Two people were eating lunch who evidently worked there. One took our name and told us to come back in 30 minutes. There were clearly plenty of tables so not sure why were not given a seat since other people were already there. We did not stay.
We got the bus towards Pont D 'Espagne and got off at the turning (tell the driver fruitiere when getting your tickets and they are MUCH cheaper! . A major trek if you stay on the road all the way, so I advise crossing one of the bridges and following the river on it 's left hand side.. that way you get to walk on a footpath (OR drive, but parking is a major pain . We didn 't make a reservation, and as such had to wait around for a while to see if they could fit us in (they did . So glad, as the food was great. Go for the 3-course and you will not leave hungry
Nous avions réservé à l'avance et nous avions spécifiquement demandé si nous pouvions amener notre chien. On nous a dit que c'était possible. Lorsque nous sommes arrivés, le propriétaire était extrêmement impoli et nous a dit que les chiens n'étaient pas autorisés. Nous avons demandé si nous pouvions manger dehors (il y avait plein de tables), elle a dit qu'il n'y avait pas de service à l'extérieur. Nous sommes repartis sans manger. Ce restaurant n'est pas du tout accueillant pour les chiens et ne semble pas non plus être très accueillant pour les clients !

A treat to the senses both physical and spiritual!! Taken as a treat, the narrow winding road leads to an idylic setting straight out of the Heidi novel.Mountain water cascading through this remote valley with the mountain peaks in the distance. On a cold and damp Summers day the restaurant provides a fantastic Rustic menue which many hikers and walkers have enjoyed.This was a unique surprise but cant wait until we visit the area again. Go with a big appetite. The only thing missing was a roaring fire which I am sure it sports in the Winter.
Walked into this Restaurant while hiking in the Pyrenees. Situated close to Cauterets in a lovely valley, this place was surprisingly sophisticated in its presentations and dishes! And I was expecting just another Refuge The Hotel restaurant is less than a hour 's drive from Cauterets, and about 2 hrs hike. Service was great food even better with generous portions! The excellent prepared and presented mouthwatering dishes was thoroughly enjoyed! Next time i will sleep over as well. A booking might be wise.
We found La Fruitière to be a perfectly judged restaurant. The style is low key, but the food absolutely fantastic. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Unprompted, they even brought out a small taster of an unknown menu item to make sure we would be happy with our choice. And happy we were, all the dishes we chose were delicious. Booking definitely required in high season, and I do urge you to book. We loved the place.
Nous voulions passer la nuit après une longue marche depuis le Refuge Bayse lance. Après qu'un groupe juste devant nous a annulé leur réservation, on nous a renvoyés avec seulement un "désolé, vous devez continuer à marcher". C'est tout simplement inacceptable. On ne nous a même pas demandé si nous voulions prendre un repas.

J'adore La Fruitiere. Simple pour une bière et une douceur. La tarte Myrtille est incroyable !! Les heures d'ouverture sont généralement typiquement françaises, rien que du sucré après 14h00. Le cadre est incroyable et la route jusqu'à l'endroit est merveilleuse.
Came here after a hike at pont d'espagne. The staff was friendly, the food was amazing. Great views and atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed.
