La Gabelle - Réserver une table

We had been exploring St Florent le viel on a hot day and, with a music festival going on up in the old town, we needed to find lunch during the afternoon. This hostelry presented itself and being right on the bank of the Loire by a small road bridge, it looked just right. we sat inside in a modern dining room and enjoyed the menu du jour. The staff are very friendly and you can also choose to sit on the deck over the road, under an umbrella. This was already full so we didn't have the choice, but no matter. the food was excellent and well presented, not too large a portion and not too hurried. Combined with a very attractive little town to visit, this restaurant/hotel fits the bill very nic...

Beautiful and relaxed setting for the restaurant overlooking the river. We had a midweek lunch after trying three times for a reservation when the restaurant was fully booked or closed. Friendly staff and food was excellent. Especially enjoyed the choice of starters.

Nous sommes restés une nuit, en voyage d'affaires, le personnel était adorable, tout comme la nourriture. Super séjour. La seule chose négative que je peux mentionner, c'est un peu d'odeur de tabac dans les chambres mais pas trop mal. Merci

Restaurant was fairly busy, very clean and welcoming. Tables well laid out. Very friendly staff. Food excellent value. Outside seating area right on the banks of the river and great for an aperitif.
