This restaurant was recommended to us by the proprietor of the hotel where we were having an overnight stay. Since it was a Saturday I telephoned to book and was asked whether we would like to eat indoors or on the outdoor terrace. I hesitated, explaining that we hadn't visited the restaurant before so it was difficult to decide. This was easily rectified, they would hold two tables for us and we could decide when we arrived! The food was not a disappointment. I would describe it as a fine dining experience which was very reasonably priced considering the quality and presentation. Most definitely worth a visit!
The owners of the gite in which we were staying recommended this restaurant. It was a little difficult to find, it is opposite a cinema in Villeneuve. We ate lunch there on a Saturday when nearby restaurants were crowded and this was merely busy. We had the E16.50 menu and were surprised at the choice available and of the quality of the food. Including wine and coffee our bill was just under E50. The service was superb, the owner particularly friendly and their English was much better than our French. Worth taking the trouble to locate and certainly worth a return visit.
Truly great food. All the regional classics. I had escargot (huge serving, and the best garlic cream sauce I have ever tasted); canard magret (excellent); and chocolate fondant (my best ever.) The owner and staff made us feel really welcome and we enjoyed outstanding service all evening. Not cheap but reasonable value given the quality of the food and the service.
Le magret de foie gras pour une satisfaction totale, tant pour la nourriture que pour le service. Juste un léger regret pour la carte des vins, mais très subjectif. Tout pour un rapport qualité-prix imbattable. Ne passez pas à côté sans vous en débarrasser !
