"David and his team always provide a fantastic service. We often visit this restaurant and we like it. Very spacious dinning room. Table nicely decorated, classy white tablecloths, excellent service, very good local food and excellent wine. We had 2 glasses of Puligny (excellent) and...a bottle of red Mersault (yes red). What else!"

What a pleasure to discover the Hotel Le Dracy and its in house restaurant La Garenne at a fitting address for wine lovers in wine press street. You see we were on our way to visit the winery of the good people Faiveley at their...nearby winery in Mercurey. So we sought a Chalonnais experience! This was terrific. Lots of local chardonnay and pinot noir, and the first wine kicked off with that terrific local cheese morsel, gougeres or cheese puffs or choux pastry filled with gruyere or comte, France 's most popular cheese the latter. We started with a confronting fish for Aussies, a cassoulet, quaintly termed cassolette here of snails and frogs legs topped with garlic foam, croutons for crunc...

We had stopped to visit Château de Germolles, which we discovered was closed from 12-2p, so we needed to find a nearby lunch destination. I made a last minute reservation at La Garenne and was greeted with hospitality and warmth. The dining room is a...glassed in terrace in a country setting overlooking the hotel swimming pool and lawn . We had the menu du jour, which was heavy on fish that day. Cold liightky pickled mackerel filet as appetizer and grilled sea bream for the plat. The portions were massive, fresh and well prepared, accompanied by salad and potatoes . The wine list is extremely good, the most affordable we saw in Burgundy, and a good selection of well priced wines from Cote Ch...

I ate here whilst on holiday in the area. The restaurant had been recommended to us so we booked a able for a Friday evening. It was very warm weather so we chose to eat outdoors as did many other diners. Service was very...good there was little English spoken by most of the waiting staff so be prepared to brush up on your French language skills. Both me and my husband enjoyed our meal choices. Everything was beautifully displayed, cooked perfectly and the right portion size. However I was very full by the time dessert was served so I didn't make the most of that course. The wine list was good, with a selection of local wines, and from other regions. The cheese trolley was wonderful too. I w...

The welcome in the Restaurant was OK but not extremely friendly and we did not really feel welcome! The interior is totally outdated not to say terrible. It is a mix of styles and colours which do not match. And we think it need a...renovation. The menu is limited in it's choices. Only 3 or 4 starters and the same number of main dishes. The food was OK but not very innovative. The presentation was not really French. It seems that somebody just happen to place the food on a plate. The food was warm but really hot. The service could have been a little more friendly. We would not go there for a second time.
