The food here in general is good I think. The platanos and salad were prepared originally and the soup was yummy and different. However, my fillet of fish was a soggy, heated from frozen, breadcrumbed fillet admitted to be so by the owner... SO...weird to have this on the 9 000 Cop menu as an option luckily my boyfriend chose a meat option which was good! She did bring me a different one when i told her it tasted awful (almost off.. and i tried asking for the other fish ootiin but thus was lost in my bad spanish.. Just hope she takes the frozen filket off the menu to avoid getting more reviews like this...
The restaurant is a bit hidden in a corner at the back of the main square. They only serve lunch for 8000 1000 peso, you can get a delicious 4 course meal! Everything is specifically made: a filling vegetable soup, lemon tea drink, main course... choice of grilled beef, chicken, or pork steak) with the BEST sweet plantain I've ever had and delicious beets, and a cinnamon dessert. They also have free coffee! I was craving for the sweet plantains and beets and wanted to go back for dinner on our second night but they were closed. : It was that good!
This is a family business ran by a local couple. Gloria studied culinary school in Paris, and it does show. It's perfect. For $7,000 $2) you get a hearty soup, meat/fish/chiken with rice, veggies,salad, a fresh squizzed juice, a coffee and desert. Super clean and...fesh. I pretty much ate there everyday when in Salento. Plus jazz and good music on, pretty setting, I highly recommend!
Lots of cheap menus to choose from, some 7000-9000cop. The vegetarian menu was more expensive, more like 15000cop, and turned out to be mushroom risotto. The food was tasty. The only issue we had with the place is that it probably took over 45 minutes...to be attended to. In their defense, it was fairly busy.
