I ordered catering from La Giraldilla for our conference dinner. I ordered rice, beans, ropa vieja, fricase pollo, salad, maduros, and tostones. We had plenty of food left after 80 people ate. (I may have ordered 120 people's worth of food lol)Everyone enjoyed the food! Also, the delivery was fast and on time. When I talked to the owner and his wife, they were very accommodating and made the process easy. You won't regret when you order catering from here!
I placed a lunch order through Grubhub and received a confirmation email. However, when I got to the restaurant, I was informed that my order had been canceled. They told me they didn't have the food I ordered (I had two Cuban sandwiches). While I understand that mistakes can happen, I expected some effort to make things right after I drove all the way there, or at the very least, a more genuine apology. I won’t be ordering from here again.
Finding authentic Cuban food in Bergen County can be quite a challenge, but this restaurant is truly the exception. It's the only spot worth visiting without having to trek to Hudson County. I gladly drive 20 minutes from my home to enjoy their food, even though there are closer Cuban alternatives. The dishes are delicious, the prices are fantastic, and the service is warm and welcoming. Plus, the restaurant has a charming atmosphere.
While I'm enjoying my meal, I felt compelled to share my thoughts. From the moment I walked in, the customer service was exceptional, making it easy to place my order. The food is the best I've had in the northern NJ area in quite some time. It has an authentic flavor that truly stands out. The food here is very good. I got the chicken stew, with some chicharonnes, empanadas, and a Cuban sandwich. I don't understand all of the excellent comments about the Cuban. That is the reason I only rated them 3 stars. There was legitimately one piece of meat and cheese on the sandwich.
I love this place but you never know when they are gonna be open. I’m standing outside of the restaurant for maybe the 3rd time now at 11am and they are closed. Unreliable hours
Staff, atmosphere food are Absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!! Simply put, If you're looking for Cuban..... I highly recommend you check this place out!
