La Halle Renaissance

We booked La Halle de la Renaissance as part of our 2 day visit to Puy du Fou. We thought the entertainment would make the experience that little bit more special for the whole family. The food as ok, it was a set 3 course meal including pate en croute, chicken leg with potatoes & peas and a chocolate & caramel cake, with wine. The entertainment was ok but the meal felt rushed as we had a 6.30pm booking and we had to leave the table by 7.30pm for the following serving. The evening show was on at 10.30pm so we had 3 spare hours to fill. The hall itself was nice, the kids thought it was a bit mad eating and drinking out of metal plates & cups but that was the idea...

You sit on tables of 10 with salad and pork pie, chicken and potatoes and chocolate cake pudding to eat. All the entertainment is in French. The audience is divided into two, half supporting the English and the other half the French. The silly games are played, roughly themed and the French win (of course as the majority of the audience is French families on holiday). Enjoyable farce but don't expect historical accuracy or good quality food. The upside? Silly fun, great to make friends with other families and I have never seen so many French people cheer for the English to win something! PS we were on the French team and cheered enthusiastically for our side too!

The fixed menu - salad, roast chicken and a cake dessert with as much house wine as you want was acceptable as served simultaneously to all tables of 10 by cheerful staff. The chicken tasted good but the meal could have come from a cafeteria but with a better decor. We had one member with allergy needs and his meal was terrible - salad, fish which tasted frozen and a couple of apples for dessert. At least they made an effort to provide it.The show was fun with diners participating but without the props that would have made it special. Good for a fun family meal, not good for anyone wanting a gourmet meal for two.

Nous avons dîné ici un dimanche midi dans le cadre d'une visite du puy de fou, quel spectacle. La disposition des sièges surélevés permettait une vue fantastique sur les divertissements « pendant le repas ». La nourriture, bien que simple, était chaude, saine et bien remplie. Assurez-vous cependant de le réserver.

Nous avons dû réserver, rien d'extraordinaire, j'avais peur du vin mais j'ai eu une très bonne surprise, poulet en petite portion mais très irritable. Prix ​​raisonnable, spectacle jusqu'à présent loin des autres mais bon moment.
