The “beef three ways” was beautifully presented on a wooden platter. The steak was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The cylinder of compressed pulled beef cheek was just as delicious and coated in crispy panko breadcrumbs, providing a delightful textural contrast. The little pot of baby onions and slow-cooked beef was absolutely divine, rich and buttery. The chips were the best I have ever tasted, surpassing even those at Ynyshir.
Our waitress, Evelyn-May, was a true delight. She handled the lighthearted banter from two older gentlemen with ease and made us feel welcome and cared for. We couldn’t help but admire her hair!

Popped in for lunch, lots reserved tables. Unfortunately a long 35 minute wait for our food with no warning by service staff (which was only warmed up quiche and steak sandwich with French fries Portion sizes very small and seemed over priced for quantity of food served ie Jan's Quiche with tiny salad and spoonful potatoes £12 We have eaten happily here before and so todays experience has put me off going here again as took so long for food to arrive and had to pay for additional parking to eat our food comfortably without rushing.
The food is average, featuring frozen oven chips. While the service was friendly, the delivery of the meals was quite slow. The venue itself is very small, with a noisy atmosphere due to the number of tables crammed in. This was a lunch visit, and the price per person was between £30 and £40. Overall, I would rate the food a 3, the service a 3, and the atmosphere a 2.
What a hidden treasure! My husband and I enjoyed a mid-week lunch here, and it did not disappoint. The food was fantastic, and we sat outside in the beautiful courtyard with a refreshing glass of wine—simply perfect. We will definitely be returning to La Madeleine again and again!
