Let me just share that we have visited this location for about 20 years now...Not that we are old. My inlaws knew good food in the area when I initially moved..we have been since taking our kids. And now our son his daughter. The food is always consistent. We are frequent visitors to RockNWheels down the street and decide that our money is better spent on small businesses then Portillos. (Not that we do not love a good Portalimules visit..in the burbs it has become common). Their shredded chicken anything is freakin amaz. We dined here last night and tried the steak fajitas and the pastor tacos dinner. Both meals came with complimentary chips, salsa, and soup. The chips were warm and fresh, and both the hot and mild salsas were delicious. I really liked the soup that accompanied my entree; the broth was flavorful, and the pasta was perfectly cooked. The service was prompt and friendly. The steak fajitas were fantastic! However, the pastor tacos leaned more towards an American twist and were quite sweet. Went here with some girlfriends for dinner. Server was very nice and checked in on us frequently getting us anything we needed. I ordered the steak fajitas, it was 24$. Most of my plate was green peppers and onions and small Amount of meat. For $24 I think they could spring for some red and yellow peppers. I honestly hate green peppers lol they just taste like they need more time to grow . My cousin got Chicken fajitas and her plate was the same. The flavor of the meat was good though, portion of rice and beans was small and just OK. Their chips and salsa and pretty decent too. Over all everything was good, not spectacular. Server was great though. I would go again, maybe try something else.

Excellent place. Food was great and the service was quick and friendly. This is the kind of place for authentic Mexican food and an atmosphere where you can hold a conversation at your table (music in the background wasn't to loud). Servers were attentive and friendly. If you decide to dine here, make sure to pay with cash. I used a debit card and ended up having my information stolen, which led to the staff going on a $1,500 shopping spree at Victoria's Secret. I can only hope they chose something nice. While we did get our money back, it's still quite concerning...
While the decor is simple, you can't beat the food! The carne asada is always delicious. The chicken soup, which is included with your meal, is so very tasty. My favorite cocktail is the hand-shaken margarita. I enjoy dining at the bar, great service and pleasant conversation.
