My husband and I had the 'perfect' lunch at 'La Maison de ma Grand-Mere'. This restaurant, set in the quiet, peaceful garden of Isabelle's grandmother's house, was recommended by our tour guide who had booked it for us prior to our arrival. Take the time to plan ahead and let Isabelle know that you are interested. She will plan the perfect meal for you.Isabelle cooks according to the season so that the food is always fresh and locally sourced. Isabelle was kind enough to talk to us about her family, her grandmother and the history around her restaurant. Isabelle had cooked a wonderful slow cooked rabbit dish and a fig tarte-tatin. The rabbit dish had been cooking for seven hours. Our lunch was cooked with love and we couldn't have asked for anything more. Highly recommended! Thanks Isabelle for creating such a wonderful memory for us on our trip to France.
A cette époque de l'année de nombreux lieux de restauration dans cette région sont fermés, nous avons donc été ravis de retrouver ce petit trésor ouvert toute l'année. La réservation est indispensable car Isabelle cuisine juste pour le nombre de personnes ayant réservé. Ce n'est pas votre restaurant traditionnel, c'est comme une visite chez un ami, mais chez un ami qui est un excellent cuisinier ! Le cadre est charmant et l'hôtesse chaleureuse et sympathique. Un incontournable si vous souhaitez vivre une expérience originale, mettant l'accent sur les produits locaux et le service personnalisé. Nous avons tellement apprécié le vin de la maison que nous sommes allés à la Cave de Bonnieux la semaine suivante pour en acheter à la maison.
Our tour guide recommended lunch at La Maison de ma Grand-Mere, and owner Isabelle made a perfect lunch for us. It's important to book 24 hours in advance, as Isabelle works by reservation only. With advanced notice, she accommodates dietary restrictions. I'm a vegetarian, but my family is not, and she very kindly prepared a meal especially for me. The personal experience she provides is unlike anything you'll find at a traditional restaurant, and very authentically Provencal. Her cozy garden provides the perfect ambiance as well.
We had a very nice lunch there today, as it's quite near to our home. We four were the only people there, as it's still quiet at this time of year, and it was very enjoyable. The embiance is very homely and the service, by the owner, friendly and considerate. We ate indoors, but I can imagine that the garden would be a cool and shady place to eat in the summer. It really is good home cooking and we will be going back soon.
