We went to La Maronaise based on the reviews, as the top-rated restaurant in Plages du Prado. My wife and I drove there especially and received a friendly welcome from the waitress, who did her best to understand our dreadful French. Sadly the service was to be the only high point of our experience at this restaurant. My wife had a pizza that was so heavily laminated in cheese that she had to scrape some off and form a fromage mountain on the side of her plate. I ordered the steak and was greeted with an enormous slab of meat that was jaw-achingly chewy and almost entirely made up of fat. It wouldn't be so bad if the prices matched the quality but, at 20 euros for the steak, I'd hoped for something a bit better. Surely this can't be the best restaurant the area has to offer?

Dropped in here whilst looking for somewhere to have dinner and was pleasantly surprised. Ate out on the terrace. Service was great (2 waiting staff - one spoke a little English and we managed to get by just fine), menu on a chalkboard. I had the mussels - great, best I've had in a long time, my wife had the dorada - truly excellent in a light sauce. It only loses points for the price - main courses are priced reasonably as portions are big, but the desserts are somewhat expensive in comparison. We shared the creme brulee as a result, but felt a bit ripped off at this.

I had the Salade Maronaise which was excellent .Attractively presented in a fine bread basket with a tasty dressing and lots of seafood. The Margarita pizza was rather unexciting , but the "Corse" was loaded with plenty of charcuterie .We ate out on the Terrace. The sun canopies were retracted so at on stage we were too hot and moved tables only to be chilly in the shade.

The one time we dined here, the food was burned, overcooked and over seasoned. We went based on the reviews, so I am hoping that our experience was just a bad day for the cook. The atmosphere, drinks and service were very good, however.
