**Pros:** Friendly staff, a selection of Mexican items available for purchase such as chips and salsas for home use, and soft bread. **Cons:** Unfortunately, the quality doesn't quite shine. I truly wanted to enjoy this place, but the bread simply didn’t meet my expectations. It’s not entirely their fault; I’ve sampled various Mexican bakeries in both Chicago and Mexico, and this one just didn’t compare. I hope to find a great Mexican bakery in Detroit soon.
Downriver is so fortunate to have an authentic Mexican bakery. I got a flan and a few Mexican pastries. I really enjoy their pastries. They have great pastries, great service, and the bakery is conveniently located on Fort Street. Definitely worth a visit.
This bakery was on my list of places to visit. We went on Sunday. It was very clean. The clerk was friendly and helpful. The milk cake was delicious. I will be back. Everything looked delicious.

The baked goods are incredibly delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The rolls are also a favorite. I can't wait to return and try their tamales!
Everything is very good.....and the cakes are very pretty. My son's next birthday. The cake is going to be from the Mexicana bakery.
Smaller selection, however everything was better quality and not stale, and the prices were great too, would definitely come back
