We travel to the Emporda region of Costa Brava 3-4 times a year. We enjoy eating out during the day taking advantage of the great value to be had in the Menu del Dia. There really are some fine restaurants in this area with my particular favourites being LA gruta in Escala, la Sala (towards Torrent) , Les Coques Del Psss in Peratellada, el Moli in Escala. On our latest visit we stumbled across La Paissa de l'avi in Fontanilles. It was not very obvious that it was open but when we finally got over that we were treated to an absolute feast who quality would rival any of the restaurants mentioned above and value for money that would beat all of them. Terrassa molt agradable en un ambient molt de poble i acollidor. Per menjar varem demanar galta al forn i es desfeia a la boca i un entrecot de vaca espectacular.
