La Patatiere - Réserver une table

Visited at least 5 times in the last few years. I am from Dunkerque but live in Ireland. Every time I come to Dunkerque, eating at LA Patatiere is a must! My favourite restaurant here for sure. If you don't like potatoes, then obviously this restaurant is not for you... What you get is a choice of a Huge jacket potato. There is a large choice to pick from, some with meat and cheeses, some with sea food, ect. I always pick the savoyarde which is with nice ham and raclette cheese. It's yummy! they have a special offer for about 17.50€ where you pick a jacket potato (from a selection) and you also get a choice of drink (including beers and cocktails) choice of desert and coffee or tea. They also have a kids version of the menu for about 7-8€ where they get half of an adults jacket potatoe, choice of drink, a desert or icecream and a toy. the staff are friendly but not all can talk English and not sure if they have an English menu..... Expect to be there for over an hour if you go for the full menu with drinks, main course, desert and coffee, but that's good, you can enjoy your time there without been rushed! It is a very popular and busy restaurant situated on the beach, reservation is highly advised or you could get turned away as they are so busy. Highly recommend everyone to try it, you will be very surprised and enjoy the food and experience and afterwards you can go for a walk on the beach.

We tried to eat here (2 adults and 3 children) but the restaurant was busy when we arrived. Asked if we had a reservation (which we didn't), we were told it would be 15 mins before a table would become available but we could sit at the bar area and have a drink while we waited. After 20 mins of waiting to get a drink, we were told it would be another 5 mins. This came and went and in the end, we gave up. Our advice - book (which seems ridiculous given the location) or just don't believe what you are told if you don't book! Shame, because the food looked good and its popularity clearly has gone to the managements heads!

My son and I visited La Patatiere while on a booze cruise to Calais. The food consists of every sort of jacket potato you could wish to have - and the potatoes are enormous - accompanied by a lovely salad. The staff were prompt and attentive and the prices are very affordable, especially with the lunchtime offer. We highly recommend this lovely setting and will definitely visit again. If you want to sit on the beach, they also do take-away.

We searched for somewhere to eat outside in the rare April sun. We found this restaurant and weren't disappointed. Three of us had jacket potatoes with chicken and a mushroom sauce - huge and gorgeous. My son had fish and chips. He cleaned the plate - loved it! Don't be put off by it being by the cinema complex and main road. We'll worth lunch.

When served at La Patatiere, not really one for jacket potato's but after ten weeks of travelling eating salami and Parma ham fancied a change , what a great decision and no wonder we struggled to get a table , excellent food with all varieties of toppings / sides etc an excellent choice for food and value , pleasant staff
