La Pausa had become, over the last few years, quite a good comfortable Restaurant with more than adequate food well cooked and presented. This visit, the entire experience was ruined by a petty little tyrant running the show who was unpleasant, officious and not even a particularly efficient or knowledgeable waiter. Despite the place being empty with only one lone other diner we could not have the table we wanted and he refused to talk about our wishes and appeared to not understand Spanish, French or English. We were tired and hungry after a long journey so accepted the only table gracelessly offered. The food was acceptable (though last year there was more choice and it was better cooked and charmingly served) but the meal was ruined by the man who apparently was the Restaurant Manager. The other staff seemed wary of him. During the entire evening the Restaurant was near deserted, we are not surprised. We dined evening of 18th September
