La Pause Gout The

Whilst on holiday in the area we came across this place by chance one day whilst stocking up at one of the local supermarkets. As you enter there is a well stocked shop to the left and the tea room through to the right. To the rear is a lovely garden and outside seating area where we sat. The menu has a good range of teas on offer as well as coffee and pastries. We opted for a pot of Darjeeling to share and an assiette gourmond (trio of pastries and cakes) each. We were given a timer which told us when the tea was ready to pour. The tea, pasties and cakes were very good and we had a pleasant time sitting out in the sunshine. Afterwards we had a look around the shop which offered a range of teas, foods, china cups etc to buy. Some good quality produce on offer however the prices were quite expensive. A great place to drop in to before or after your grocery shopping.

This was a very pleasant surprise to me, especially given the unlikely setting (behind a huge supermarket on a ZA). I was delighted by the fab little shop part attached to the tea room as well; but the tea room really takes the biscuit, so to speak - "The Gourmand", with 3 tasters of delicious cake and dessert, was delicious, and the helpings not so huge as to blow the diet. Huge choice of excellent teas and other drinks, with daily specials.Enjoyed it so much, went back the next day and tried an organic verbena tisane, also excellent. Highly recommended!

Morning or afternoon tea in the pleasant atmosphere? Take your family or friends there and you will return again. An unusual gift/souvenir difficult to find? Try their upmarket shop and you will end up buying something for yourself as well. How lucky that we have this place in our area. Number one in the area to be recommended to our gite guests.

If you are in the area,pop into this lovely tearoom. Looks like a house from the outside, but inside it is special. Great selection of teas & coffee, Cakes etc. If ths is enough, there is also a lovely shop with all sorts of foodie gifts at reasonable prices

We have been here many times and are never disappointed. Great for hot tea and coffee in the winter or a cold drink in the summer. The kids love the cookies and the cafe gourmand is great for adults to share.
