Out of town near the dog-poo-lined bike path lies the Americana pimped La Pizza Gourmande. On approach it looks more like the kind of neighbourhood you'd find a mechanic workshop. Inside the décor appears to spell doom - tin budweiser ads and John Wayne on the TV. My hosts didn't look particularly thrilled to see me but begrudgingly gave me the least appealing table in an almost empty restaurant. The pizza is however, exceptionally good. Simple, fresh, and proper Italian.Homesick apres skiers from the States may appreciate the American beers, and the food quality and price outweights the otherwise lack of charm. Recommended.
